Third Year Requirements

Program Requirements

  1. Review the AZA email sent to your UArizona email and complete the program selection form: Make Your AZA Program Selection

      1. Graduate School Preparation: This is a 5-week Series focused on the graduate and professional school experience, including how to choose a school, the application process, and creating drafts of your application materials. This begins Tuesday, September 20th and ends October 18th. This session will be held once a week from 2:00pm to 3:30pm in-person. If you choose this option, you MUST be able to make the entire time.
      2. Workforce Preparation: This is a 5-week Series focused on preparing to enter the workforce after graduation. During this time you'll explore job prospects for your field, experience needed, interview skills, and preparing your resume. This begins Monday, September 19th and ends October 17th. This session will be held once a week from 2:00pm to 3:30pm in-person. If you choose this option, you MUST be able to make the entire time.
      3. Internship: 20 hours fall semester (you must find this on your own)
      4. Research: 20 hours fall semester (you must find this on your own)
      5. Full-year Build Your Own Experience: Two Thrive Center Teach and Shares and one meeting with your AZA Outreach Coordinator per semester. This is a total of four Teach and Shares and two meetings the entire year (more information will be provided via email, you will get to choose times and days based on your schedule).
      6. Study abroad (this option should only be chosen if you are currently studying abroad or will study abroad in the spring)
  2. Complete the program requirement you chose on the program selection form. Most options were designed to be a one-semester requirement. If completed in the fall, you do not have a program requirement in the spring, just meet with your academic advisor and kindly ask them to complete the form.
  3. Meet with your academic advisor once in the fall semester AND once in the spring semester AND ask them to sign your online Academic Advisor Form

Financial Requirements

  1. File your FAFSA by March 1, 2023 (the FAFSA opens on October 1st each year and you will use 2021 tax information)
  2. Make any corrections to your FAFSA by May 1, 2023 (all FAFSA changes must be final by this date)
  3. Remain eligible to receive the Pell Grant (this will be determined by your FAFSA)

Academic Requirements

All academic requirements are reviewed at the end of the spring semester. If you are below the unit or GPA requirement, you may take summer units, and these will be checked again after summer session II.

  1. Complete/pass 72 UA units 
  2. Maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
