First Year Requirements

Program Requirements

  1. Attend the Arizona Assurance meeting during New Student Orientation (summer prior to your first semester at the UA)
  2. Attend the AZA Scholars Dinner: Friday, August 19, 2022 from 5:00pm - 7:00pm in Bear Down Building
  3. Fully participate in the Thrive Center first-year peer mentor program - Sign-up here
    • Meet with your academic advisor once in the fall semester AND once in the spring semester AND ask them to sign your online Academic Advisor Form
    • Attend the one cohort event for the year at the time that best fits your schedule:
      • Thursday, January 26, 2023: 12:00pm - 1:30pm OR 6:00pm - 7:30pm

    Financial Requirements

    1. File your FAFSA by March 1, 2023 (the FAFSA opens on October 1st each year and you will use 2021 tax information) 
    2. Make any corrections to your FAFSA by May 1, 2023 (all FAFSA changes must be final by this date)
    3. Remain eligible to receive the Pell Grant (this will be determined by your FAFSA) 

    Academic Requirements

    All academic requirements are reviewed at the end of the spring semester. If you are below the unit or GPA requirement, you may take summer units, and these will be checked again after summer session II.

    1. Complete/pass 24 UA units 
    2. Maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
