Active participation in the Arizona Assurance Scholars Program has shown to increase the retention and graduate rates for students. As a result of programming efforts and mentoring, students create a better connection to campus.
- More than 4,500 students have participated in Arizona Assurance since its inception in 2008.
- 30% of Arizona Assurance Scholars consistently make the Dean’s List. This is 3% points higher than the UA.
- 94.5% of all AZA students participated in an experience outside the classroom during the 2014-2015 academic year.
- Students who complete the AZA program requirements are significantly more likely to stay at the UA than their peer comparison group. In 2014-2015, 92% of AZA students returned to the UA compared with only 76% of the comparison group.
“Finding out I received AZA was one of the best things that’s happened to me because I could come to this great school and not have to worry about the cost. Arizona Assurance is a great program, and it’s allowed me to come to the UA and get a top-notch education. I’m very thankful.”
